And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.
Genesis 17:7
but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 19:14
At Redeemer, we believe the Bible teaches children are part of the family of God from even before they are born. We believe that just as God made a covenant with Abraham and his offspring, God makes a covenant with the Church through Jesus Christ. This means we warmly welcome children in our worship services. For children to know and experience they are part of the church, participating in the weekly worship of God’s people is essential.
We are a growing congregation with many children of various ages. We do not have established nursery or childcare during the worship service, but there are spaces available for parents to remain connected to the worship service via livestream. We also have a room available for nursing mothers.
We take seriously the call of our Lord Jesus Christ to “let the children come to me” (Matthew 19:14) and understand this means we are to love, teach, and instruct our children in the truths of our faith. Besides our worship services, we have children’s classes during our Christian Education time. Through Bible stories, catechism, songs and activities, the children of Redeemer are given a loving environment to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As a reformed and presbyterian church, we primarily use curriculum from Great Commission Publications, which includes instruction on the summary of our faith found in the Westminster Shorter Catechism. We also teach our children the music we sing in worship, which is found primarily in the Trinity Psalter Hymnal
